Santorini Vulcano

Volcanism in the area of Santorini (Greece), the most active part of the South Aegean Volcanic Arc, started about 2 million years ago. The still active caldera is enclosed by the ring-shaped main island Thera (some smoke can be seen on the last pic).

Hi JM:)

Gorgeous photos with breathtaking scenery. It is amazing to read that this volcano started 2 million years age and still active. Marvelous piece of information.

You header photo is just fantastic.

Have a good day JM:)

The water looks as clear as crystal Jose. I can almost feel that warm mediteranean sun on me. :)

Optimas fotografias.
