Il Campanile de San Marco

The first tower was a lighthouse and dated back to 1173. It was restored in the early 16th century as we se it now (98,6m high); however it collapsed in 1902 and the reconstruction was completed ten years later.

Santorini Vulcano

Volcanism in the area of Santorini (Greece), the most active part of the South Aegean Volcanic Arc, started about 2 million years ago. The still active caldera is enclosed by the ring-shaped main island Thera (some smoke can be seen on the last pic).

Mingun

Mingun is a town in northwest Burma/Myanmar, located 11 km up the Ayeyarwady River on the west bank from Mandalay.
1, 2 - Settawya Temple, built in 1811, houses a footprint of Buddha
3- The unfinished Pahtodawgyi would have been the largest Stupa in the world. Huge cracks were made by an earthquake in 1838.
