I hadn't heard of this before - it must take a fair bit of maintenance each year to keep it in good repair.

My goodness! I hope that it has been restored and fixed and made safe since 1849! It appears to have quite a bit of traffic, too. Even a bicycle...but no motorized vehicles, I'd guess...
