Thank you for this...gives another whole perspective to the temple and its surroundings. I wonder what exactly when on there 2,000 years ago?

Do you know anything of the cult of Mithras in the first few centuries of the common era? A very fascinating story.

Oh, I meant to add how great that first shot is with the horse and carriage. Is that how you got around town to take your photos? ;-)

Wouldn't be a bad way to go, though...right?

These images are just stunning...loved the blue!

I didn't even know there were Roman temples in Portugal as well...rather ignorant of me, I guess...

Ah, and more of those wonderful, ancient buildings! Superb captures as always! Love the horse drawn carriage, too!

You are welcome.

I like both photos, but the first with the horses and carriage is really striking with the varied contents and wonderful composition! The Romans really got around, didn't they? :)

J'aime beaucoup la composition de la seconde qui évoque parfaitement le charme d'Evora.

I knew the Romans had made it to Portugal (the fellas went far from home in their time, didn't they?) but never saw any image of their feats in Portugal, this is really interesting! Thanks for sharing!
God bless you!
