Joan, all Inca sites are in ruins because the spanish destroyed them all in the 16th century...
im very drawn to ruins. would love to visit these. glad you enjoyed the photography site. my daughters boyfriend just got 4 of his pics from vietnam featured in a local gallery. hes pretty excited about it. gorgeous pics too.

Are these ruins in the same general area?
And did the elevation bother you at all?
You are very fortunate to have traveled to so manu amazing places. I feel fortunate that you brought a camera. This is great!
The shadows in the second photo are very effective. They add perspective and make the image interesting.
It seems such a pity that these places are now ruins. They stood for so many centuries it seems a waste to let them go now.
