The Temple of Horus

The best preserved major temple in Egypt is located in the city of Edfu and was dedicated to the falcon god Horus. It was built over a 180-year period (237 BC - 57 BC), outlasting six Ptolomies and has laid buried to its lintels until the 1860s.

WOW Jose!! This is fantastic. What a pity these places seem to be falling apart now. I have not been to Egypt. Love your new header.

To me, this is more interesting and more impressive than the Pyramids. Great photos, esp. the third one with the two men, as it really gives you an idea of the space. Thanks for sharing with us!

It's been such a long time that I've been to Egypt. It was one of my very first trips abroad. Now I barely remember this temple. Ithink I should have to go again with fresh eyes..Lovely photos as always..

Oh, man, Egypt is definetely a place in my list. I admire so much that ancient civilizations built stuff that's been standing for thousands of years!
Very nice pics!
God bless you!

One year ago at this time we were visiting Egypt for the first time, including the Temple of Horus, which you have captured so well.

Thank you for your comments on our Buenos Aires polo photos on our VivalaTravel.com site. In the near future we will show some photos from across the river at Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, which was a Portuguese settlement.
