That looks like a good place to spend a few hours relaing and listening to the sound of the water. Better still, at nigh when you can watch the stars too.
I have not been to Palenque yet but it is on my list. great photo. I am surprised you have not been to Uruguay yet. You would enjoy Colonia del Sacramento. I am glad you enjoyed today's photos on our travel site, vivalavoyage.com. we will post some more from Uruguay next week too. I want to go to East Island next year, have you been yet?
JM I hope viewers will appreciate how difficult it must have been to take this photograph. You have sky at the top, sunlight at the bottom, and deep shadows and dark rocks and water in the middle. The eye can adjust to such high contrast envrionments much better than a camera, yet you have captured it all.
The touch of the ribbon effect of the falling water on the rocks suggests that you had the shutter speed slow, which makes it even more difficult to take a photo with sky and daylight in it.
Well done.
Julie and I went out last Sunday to get some photos of moving water in Oak Creek Canyon above Sedona, but we went early in the morning, before any sunlight hit the area so that we could shoot at a very slow speed to capture the blur of moving water.

That is gorgeous! Waterfalls are so wonderful. I've often wished I could live right next to one. Thank you for the lovely image. Namaste

It must make for a pleasant cold bath in the pool at the fall's foot...
God bless you!

Yes, I'd say that's rather striking...is there a cave behind it so you can hide back there? How about swimming in the pool?
David, this is a scanned photo... it looks much better printed! :-)
Yes, Jacob, there is a cave behind the waterfall.
