Esta é histórica. Quem diria que... A mim me pareceu inacreditável ao ver ao vivo a destruição da segunda torre.

Before the mayhem. How the world has changed since then . . .

They are on everyone's mind today, I think -- surely on mine! Thank you for this one, JM!

We are all thinking of this and will all weekend on many levels. We spoke today about the kids that grew up, mostly without fathers, all the brave first responders and firefighters that are so sick now from their wonderful efforts to save others and clean up, and of the renewal. Great post JM...

One cannot look at either a recent or an older photo of New York's lower Manhattan skyline without pausing because of the jarring absence or, for an older photo, presence, of the Twin Towers.

Ah, the memories.

Such a wonderful shot. I wish I had one from this perspective. Now when you take the ferry out to Ellis Island or the Statue of Liberty, the absence of the towers is always a stark reminder.

Une image oubliée, gommée par les flammes et les nuages de poussières.

A perfect memorial serving perfect for this day with no words necessary. (And a perfect post even when I have come late to see it1)

There aren't many adults who don't remember where they were that day.
