Shows how well it was built that it is still standing. Diane

Such beautifully intricate work . . . ashes to ashes, earth to earth . . .

I agree with Diane, amazing that as much of it is still standing! Another great reminder of why I'm glad I don't live in Guatemala!! Terrific captures as always, JM!

Superb vestiges of architecture!

Great ... I can almost see the crumbling in motion. I think it is the pairing of shots that does it.

What a crying shame... Mother Nature and her bad temper... Wonderful detail on this crumbling church.

Ne pas réparer reste souvent le meilleur témoignage de la fureur des éléments ou des hommes eux-même.

Another incredibly gorgeous building as bit the dust, so to speak. Looks quite solid. But some earthquakes don't care about such things - they take it all down!

A lot of churches here in the Philippines have been wrecked by Earthquakes and most of them undergone several restorations. This one in Guatemala is just magnificent because the destruction by the earthquakes made it look more artistic and much grand! Love the way you shot the upper part JM!

What a tragedy for this to be ruined over and over.

Amazing structure. Too bad it is attacked by nature's fury.

So you've found some decay outside your city. It's beautiful as always, but a little sad too.
