@Jacob: You are close! :-) "The Beach" (starring Leonardo DiCaprio) was filmed here; the James Bond island is a little further north in the Phang Nga Bay.
Ref to your question on Tulum:-Yes, I've been to Tulum which has a cliffside Mayan ruin in the state of Quintana Roo on the Mexican Riviera. This isn't far from Chichen Itza which is an even more impressive site, just an hour or two away by shuttle bus. I didn't get to Chichen Itza, but I did see Tulum and it was terrific. I kept thinking because of the size of the structures, some of which you can walk through, how little the Mayans must have been. The doorways were not even 5 feet high.
@Michelangelo: Everything on this island was literally washed way, it was one of the most devastated areas in Thailand. My bungallow was at the lowest part, I doudbt I would have survived if the tsunami has taken place while I was there. This do (and will) cross my mind many times...

I heard about this place...it's so beautiful it's almost surreal.
Would this be where one of the James Bond movies was filmed?

Thailand is always so attractive...
Beautiful and calm waters, I use to say every time I see Thai sea resorts like these. My perception changed after the tsunami. Awesome photos!
