For some reason I find this humorous. But it's a great group of sculptures. Every religion has it's leader and every leader has his/her disciples. One problem with disciples is that they are not taught but indoctrinated. And god forbid they should question the "wisdom" of the leader.
Many such peaceful reminders in a country unfortunately beset with violence and political strife... wait a minute, the same now goes for Thailand, where I live!

Eu devia estar a ser atacada pelos macacos nesta altura porque não me lembro disto:)))
Se bem me lembro isto é logo no início da subida, antes do ataque dos macacos! :-)))

OK, that's my rant for today! :-)

It seems to me that you traveled extensively in these regions Jose. What a wonderful experience this must have been.
Maravilhoso encontro! Também amei a árvore, o lugar é incrível!

I like it a lot !
What a gorgeous statue, peaceful looking. I wonder if there is a reason why it's under a tree.
Great photo...The re-enactment of a pivotal scene, sort of the Buddhist equivalent of Jesus on the cross, or in the manger.
Very peaceful atmosphere.
i love this photo JM. when is your concert?

If it's not a banyan tree, it at least reminds me of one.
