I have a friend who went to Verona and people were so gushing about the thrill of seeing Juliet's balcony that she made a comment to them that Romeo and Juliet was fiction. They vigorously protested.

When I went to Italy last year, we stayed with the nephew of my friend. He took us to Verona. He worked with a gentleman from Verona who pointed out one tiny little plaque near one of the entrance gates to the city that honored Shakespeare. The city thrives from the Romeo & Juliet connection and they only have one tiny plaque for Shakespeare. He thought that was rather short sighted. However, seeing Dave's comment above, maybe they want to keep the fantasy alive.

Well, I don't care whose balcony it is, I love it!! And a terrific capture as always, JM! You do have a great eye for the great shots! Thanks for sharing!

There's graffiti on the building! Is nothing sacred? Jeez!

This is a beautiful shot. The balcony looks familiar - I wonder if it appeared in the movies about Romeo and Juliet?
