Hooray! I've been to Santorini!! And what an awesome place it is!! I spent several weeks traveling around Greece years ago and I loved it!! Thanks for the memories, JM, such a gorgeous capture!! Hope your week is going well!
been to other Greek Islands, not to Santorini. Beautiful view from where you were standing! It seems like the village is almost sliding down the cliffs! greetings from Hilde
@ Joan Elizabeth: Probably as a protection from pirates (in previous times). The closer together you live, the smaller and more twisted the alleys are, the harder it is for the pirates to storm through and the easier for the locals to defend themselves.
Great picture JM, you must have been there in late winter/early spring for it to have been so green?

greetings, Joop
What a beautiful place, with the white houses of the village that look like they're built right up to the cliff's edge!

That looks like a really lovely place to go to. Keep well Diane
Never been to Santorini, but really want to go!
Very nice shot JM!
Incredible place and beautiful picture! I wonder what the buildings there would be if they have the conditions of the tropics!
It looks like another fantasy from a great book. Love the shot!
Yikes...looks like a scary place to live! Very beautiful, though. That would be quite a walk down to the water! Or worse, coming back up! :-)
What a wonderful photos. Makes me wonder however why everybody is so crammed together when there is green space on the outside.
You must have been at quite a height above it to get this shot.
