So cool to see the cockpit. But the lion?? Is he waiting for a meal, like when you step out of the plane?

This brought a smile to my face! Must have been a small plane in which you could take a picture of the cockpit!

I don't think the plane fazed that lion whatsoever. He looks quite regal, being king of the jungle and all that.

This also brought to mind an incident from last year when we flew from Houston to Colorado Springs in a small commercial plane...at one point I looked up and the stewardess was in the pilot's seat! Yikes. We made it, but I wasn't at all sure we would after that!

@Lowell: Yes, it was a small plane, no stewardess here! :-)

Oooops! Guess no one told him they needed the runway. :)
That's such a funny picture.

These lazy lions must to used to these planes. I am sure he did not bat an eye lid when you landed.

I am not a very good traveller in a small plane, but looking at the cockpit in the photo I felt just fine LOL. Great shot of the runway, hope he moved before you landed! Diane

Amazing shot. We had giraffes beside the runway at a dirt airstrip when we were taking off from the western Serengeti to fly to Arusha, Tanzania.

Great shots! Not many other places in the world where you would get a lion on the airstrip!

Oh, that is too much! That's when, as we say here in the USA, we're not in Kansas anymore!

What a thrill it must have been to step off that plane and see that amazing creature!
