Wow! I've been there! Well, we didn't get inside the palace. It was in 1957 and Morocco had just obtained its independence from France and there were police everywhere and the gates to the palace were guarded and when we came to close the guards moved toward us in a threatening manner...
When I looked into this building and into Mohammed V, Jose, all this is much more recent than I had first supposed. He only died in 1961, I gather, after much conflict with the colonial French.
Thanks for this, as it gave me the opportunity to read about a part of the world that I know little about.
