Beautiful photo. I always wanted to see the pyramids and have passes by quite close sailing through the Suez Canal 3 times when we were poor as church mice and could not afford the excursion.

I have not been to Egypt, and don't ever expect to. However, I find the facts and figures re the construction of the 'pyramdids' to be totally astonishing. The number of bricks, the number of people, over however many years. How on earth would they demand a cost-benefit analysis of something like this to prove that it was worth the use of tax-payers money?
I image there are lots of people hanging around here trying to make a living selling trinkets, just like at the Eiffel Tower.
I would love to see a map of all the places you have visited, Jose. It would be covered with pins!

Fantastic composition...what great lines that lead the eye right out of the photo and including the people and animals gives us a sense of scale. Wonderful sight. And no, I wasn't around when it was built!
Well I definitely think you take the prize for the earliest grave .. 2560 BC .. it's such a massive structure and a great capture with the camels in the foreground.
Wow, that is a different and beautiful composition of a very well photographed landmark. I really envy your travels, is it related to your job? I wish i can still reach this place in this lifetime.
That is something I'd love to see! And quite apropos — I just rented out a room in my home to a doctoral student from Saudi Arabia. His family also has an apartment in Egypt and I'm learning a lot about the culture. Quite an experience for me but not as good as being there like you :-) Another stunning image JM!

Awesome monument. Was in Egypt a few years ago, stayed in Cairo and visited this wonderful pyramid.
