Exotic and most interesting although probably not a culture in which I'd feel very comfortable. One of the things that struck me was all the various "human" expressions recreated in those masks. I also like the myriad colors in the necklaces. Some might a little heavy around the neck, though! :-)

Les masque africains fascinent.
Cette photo est superbe parce qu'elle évoque très bien ce qui semble pour nous une énigme.
Votre blog est un véritable carnet de route!

This is a real cool photo, i love the art and the simplicity of it, just exhibited against an old wooden door or just above the dusty ground! Brilliant!

Very beautiful art from so far away. I especially like the variety of expressions and emotions on the masks. I would like to display those in my home and rotate them to suit my mood. No matter what, I think any one of them would bring a smile to my face daily...

We have been to Arusha and Lake Manyara, and we have a collection of masks of indigenous cultures, so naturally we love your post.

A friend once announced that she wanted to start a collection of masks. When I brought her a couple that looked similar to these, her husband freaked and wouldn't let them hang them for fear of the "spirits" they may hold. Oh well... wonder what she did with those masks... LOL!
