La Boca is an excellent example of making a charming and popular tourist destination out of what would otherwise be a nondescript working class port area.

Burano, Italy, in the Venetian lagoon is another example.

Mamma mia che bello!
Excuse the expression in Italian, but just so I could make the wonder of this extraordinary explosion of colors!

Have a good week JM!

Even I wouldn't have a problem finding this colorful place! And I agree with Dave -- great example of creating a charming place! Terrific!

As fachadas coloridas são lindas. Um pedaço pequeno da tradição portenha. Um tango em Buenos Aires.

This blog has everything!

JM, yes, I did see "Of Gods and Men" last December. I wish the whole world would see this movie about the brave and true monks.
The Jerusalem Cinematheque had a one-time premier showing last December. Most of the audience were nuns and monks, which made it even more moving to watch.

Very cool "Door" photo. I was a profession picture framer. Doors were a very hot item to frame.

Hi there - thanks for the comment on my blog - I always did like the image of the Empire State Building through the gap in the buildings - and this is the first time I've posted it! And you are the first person to mention it!

Cheers - Stewart M

PS: I like the colourful doors shot!

I think everyone has said what I would say - fantastic colors - bright and cheery. A cabaret?

What really caught my eye is that blue and white striped scrolled shape on the left hanging in the yellow/orange background. What a lovely shape. Do you know what it is? Does it have a function or is it purely decorative?
