Michelangelo's original work (1501) was moved to the Accademia Gallery in 1873 and later replaced by a replica.

Many artists and historians of 'art believe that Michelangelo's David, is the' most beautiful piece of art that has ever been created by 'man, I agree to consider this statue a masterpiece of world sculpture

It seems the city is filled with Davids, but it's been so long ago that I don't remember which I saw. It's thrilling to see such sculpture in these settings.

Eu lembro que quando entrei na Accademia e vi a escultura do DAvid, fiquei de boca aberta, é muito maravilhoso!
Meu sonho agora é voltar lá com o Cezar e a minha filhota.Firenze é um lugar muito especial, respiramos arte!

I've seen David inside the gallery and on top of the hill. Didn't know there were others. I love this sculpture, but I think I love Pieta just a bit more (although I saw it in the gallery where I could almost touch it and it's since been move to St Peter's in Rome and sits behind glass and cordoned off).
