I think I would be most uncomfortable with that collar around my neck all the time but I guess if you have got used to it from birth, it would not be so bad.

When we posted some photos of the Maasi Village on the back slope of the Ngorongoro Crater you surmised that it was the same village that you had visited, so I was particularly interested to see your photos.

Julie would appreciate that you have featured the Maasi women, as she often photographs indigenous women when we travel. The Maasi women are indeed special. Some of the traditions of their culture, such as polygamy, to us seem to deprive them of equality and a full measure of respect, but it is perhaps ego-centric and elitist for one culture to judge another.

Delightful photo! It would appear that these women have a special interest in ear adornment!

It's wonderful to see such complete ethnic differences among us.

Ciao Jm, very interesting shot, I hope they can live for a long time while preserving the beauty of their traditions and customs!

JM, this is beautiful. I stared at your image for a long time, and you know, I'm not so easy to impress (just too spoiled myself). But awesome is awesome. You've captured so much here. The girls/women, the expressions on their beautiful faces, the interesting adornments, the gathering, the colors, the variations. Just great. I do wonder how they feel about the presence of outsiders.
