La Merced


The construction of this church began in 1548, but it has been twice destroyed by earthquakes.
Its current baroque façade dates back to 1855 .

Those intricate details in the facade... reminded my hubby of some of the temples in India: totally different architecture, but the same devotion from the artisans who must have given so much to create such works of art...

This beautiful structure has been lovingly restored and preserved. Gorgeous is the only way to describe it.
