I guess there must be many species they call 'tree ferns' as the one we have here by the same name looks a bit different. This one is very striking and beautiful Jose.

We stayed on Sao Miguel island for 10 days a few years ago. It is beautiful and would love to go back again.
The people were extremely friendly and we were lucky they spoke english and french since our portuguese was zilch.

Ferns always surprise me for some reason, and tree ferns are amzaing. I would not have expected to see them in Portugal, but then Portugal is still mostly unknown to me. I'll be learning more as I follow your blog :)

Thanks so much for identifying Positano and for suggesting the movie. I'll find it on Netflix. It will be interesting not only because of the Amalfi Coast, but because I really enjoyed the movie "Wilde" recently.
