Tiahuanaco

Tiahuanaco is a pre-columbian archaeological site in western Bolivia, 72km west of La Paz. It is considered to be one of the most important precursors to the Inca Empire, flourishing for about 500 years near the south-eastern shore of Lake Titicaca.
The stunning view of the Bolivian 'Altiplano' (La Paz/Lake Titicaca).

Olá JM!
That's a surprising one!Even we South Americans tend to think that in our part of the continent such things can "only" be found in Peru!
We had no idea about this place you show from our neighbour Bolivia!
Thanks for sharing

Absolutely amazing. I've never heard of this place and I read National Geographic religiously! Well, more or less.

Beautiful shots, JM of an incredible place.

What wonders on our planet to behold! And perhaps as we learn more about our ancestors we will learn more about ourselves and find ways that we can live together without killing one another.

Stunning photos taken with amazing skill. You have traveled so widely all over the world and seen wonderful things which we can only dream of.

Toda America comparte similitudes en cuanto a sus culturas nativas, todas estas resultan por demas intrigantes.

Those sculptures have that same look as Egyptian mummies with hands folded across the body, not as fluid, but interestingly similar. Nice, your work always is so nice to see Jm.
