Valley of the Queens

Originally named the 'Place of Beauty', the valley contains about 80 tombs (1550–1070 BC) of Pharaohs' wives and princesses, most of which are uninscribed and simple in plan.

Hi JM:)

Lovely photos. The tombs are inspiring. It looks like the Egyptians gave considerable importance to style and design of the tombs of their dead kings and noble people so that they will be remembered for ever.

Many thanks for sharing:)

Great shots. That's a place i really want to go one day. It's just "next door" and perhaps that is why i haven't been there yet. Well done

these are good memories for me. I really enjoyed my trip to egypt. And, we actually had King Tut in King Tut's tomb when we visited last September. King Tutu was only there a short while but it was unique. We went in a lot of the tombs. Truly amazing

Cada vez que vejo fotos do Egipto digo: É desta vez que lá vou!!! Mas ainda não aconteceu. A 1ª foto está brutal. Deve ser de uma dimensão assustadora :)

Not ever having been to Egypt and knowing what little I do from history books, these are truly entertaining, educational and enticing photographs!
