Hi JM :)

I am thrilled to see these excellent photos of Old City square in the historic town of Prague, which is also known as MOTHER OF ALL CITIES.

I am amazed to see one of the most pristine and varied collection of architectural beauties in the world ranging from Art Nouveau to Baroque,Renaissance,Cubist,Gothic,
Neo-Classical to ultra-modern.

I understand that this square is like an oasis compared to the narrow streets of Prague.

The Tyn Cathedral and St. Nicholas Church are a treat to watch. I also saw the statue of Jan Hus,a religious reformer who was burned to death at the stake for his beliefs.

The Astronomical clock and the magnificent horse drawn carriages among modern cars are charming and cute.

I could also see the main Christman tree and the auxiliary trees. Hotel U Prince,I understand has eye-lid windows which gives a panaromic view of the square.

I understand that there are also 27white crosses marking the place where Czec soldiers were publicly beheaded in 1621.

Many thaks for the wonderful, historic visual treat.

Have a good day :)

Have never been here but the architecture is immediately recognizable as Eastern European - so decorative!!

Thanks Joseph for your interesting comments.

I loved Prague! I visited in 2001 and stayed at the Renaissance hotel at the gate of old town. The Charles bridge was amazing. You've definitely inspired me to look for my travel photos of that visit to share on my blog. Thank you for the inspiration.
