U Bein Bridge


Longest teak bridge in the world (1,2kms) built in 1849 over the Taung-tha-man Lake.
Amarapura, Burma/Myanmar

It is amazing to see such a long wooden bridge over the vast expanse of water. Will it not get washed away in heavy rains?

Why they cann't build a proper safe bridge over the lake? The bridge is very old and that is proof enough that it has withstood the ravages of nature.

Yes the bridges are similar. Wow you have been to lots of exciting places and capture such wonderful images of them. I notice you haven't strayed to Australia yet ... perhaps its time. You have friends here.
