Originally named the 'Place of Beauty', the valley contains about 80 tombs (1550–1070 BC) of Pharaohs' wives and princesses, most of which are uninscribed and simple in plan.

Valley of the Kings:
For a period of nearly 500 years (16th to 11th century BC) 63 tombs and chambers were constructed for the kings and powerful nobles.
